In Thailand’s sugar industry, bagasse supplies fuel for heat and power generation, and filter cake provides material for fertilizer production. These by-products have value beyond sugar processing, so collecting, storing, and moving them are part of the mill’s operation.
Handling requirements vary across the site. Bulky bagasse needs enough bucket space; raised receiving points call for lifting capability. As stockpiles are drawn down, pickup locations change too.
A wheel loader brings these capabilities into one machine. It travels to the material, lifts it to the receiving height, and uses different attachments for cane stalks or loose material. Mills can assign the same wheel loader to several work areas, putting staff, yard space, and equipment to fuller use.
Scattered cane stalks in receiving and storage areas can occupy unloading spaces and vehicle routes. With stalks of different lengths lying in mixed directions, a grapple provides a way to gather and hold them during transfer.
Fitted with this attachment, the cane yard loader collects the stalks and moves them to a designated collection point. Cleared routes and unloading areas give vehicles more room to enter, stop, and unload. OXPLO offers grapple attachments for this collection and transfer work.

After juice extraction, bagasse may go to the boiler for heat and power generation or be stockpiled for later use. When stored material is needed, the wheel loader retrieves it and delivers it to the return conveyor’s receiving point. The conveyor carries it onward to the boiler.
Loose bagasse has a low bulk density, so bucket volume matters. Our bagasse bucket is designed to handle residue from cane processing, with more space for each load. Increasing the amount carried per trip reduces the trips needed to move the same quantity.

Filter cake from juice clarification and filtration may be used in fertilizer production or soil improvement. Where dewatered, stackable filter cake is held in a storage area, an OXPLO wheel loader fitted with a bagasse bucket collects it and loads transport vehicles. Those vehicles then deliver it to farms or other users, linking on-site loading with off-site transport.

A large-volume bagasse bucket increases the amount carried per trip within the wheel loader’s permitted load limit. Once the actual load per scoop rises, fewer return trips are needed to deliver the same stock to the return conveyor.
For a mill handling cane-yard accumulations and by-products, the wheel loader’s continuous loading and carrying cycle also reduces labor work and coordinating handling tools for each transfer. Employees have more time for yard coordination and production checks.
A wheel loader can travel between collection areas, stockpiles, and loading points. As a pile shrinks, the operator repositions the machine to continue collecting material; when work shifts to another area, the wheel loader moves there directly.
The receiving point can stay fixed even as pickup locations change. This gives the mill flexibility to plan routes and decide which stockpile to draw from next, according to material distribution and how quickly each pile is used.

Lift and tipping capabilities allow material collected at ground level to be discharged into higher truck bodies or receiving equipment. The wheel loader therefore connects ground-level handling with the next transport or conveying stage.
OXPLO’s OX930 and OX936L offer dumping heights of 3.2 m and 4.2 m respectively, providing options for loading and feeding tasks at different heights. This capability extends the machine’s role beyond collection and transfer to direct loading.

Changing between a grapple and a bucket lets the same wheel loader collect cane stalks, move bagasse, and load filter cake. The machine can be reassigned as the mill’s handling tasks change.
Several jobs share the same bulk material loader, so the purchase serves more of the mill’s daily workload. That improves equipment utilization and reduces the need to buy a separate machine for each handling job.
Handling jobs may be spread across the mill, but they all serve the production schedule. A wheel loader needs to deliver material to the next stage and adapt as pickup locations and tasks change. Loading capability, mobility, and attachment versatility allow one machine to cover more daily work, making better use of the equipment investment.
OXPLO supplies sugar mill equipment for material handling, including wheel loaders and a choice of buckets and grapples. Our team can discuss equipment configurations around your main materials and workflows. We also provide maintenance and parts support in Thailand, from configuration discussions before purchase to maintenance advice and repair support after delivery.

Wheel Loader FAQ
How much does a wheel loader cost?
The cost of a wheel loader varies depending on its rated load capacity, engine configuration, attachments, and optional features. Compact wheel loaders generally cost less than larger construction models. For an accurate quotation, contact OXPLO with your application requirements, preferred specifications, and destination country.
What is the fuel consumption of a wheel loader?
Fuel consumption depends on the loader size, engine power, operating conditions, and workload. Compact wheel loaders typically consume less fuel than larger models used in heavy-duty construction. Proper maintenance, efficient operating practices, and selecting the right machine size can help reduce fuel costs and improve productivity.
What is the lifting capacity of a wheel loader?
A wheel loader's lifting capacity is determined by its rated load. OXPLO offers wheel loaders with rated load capacities ranging from approximately 1.6 tons to 5 tons, making them suitable for agriculture, construction, material handling, and industrial applications. Always select a machine with sufficient capacity for your intended workload.
Can a wheel loader be used with pallet forks?
Yes. Many OXPLO wheel loaders can be equipped with pallet forks through a quick coupler system. This allows the machine to handle palletized goods, construction materials, agricultural products, and warehouse cargo, making it a versatile alternative to dedicated material handling equipment in certain applications.
How often should a wheel loader be serviced?
Regular maintenance is essential for maximizing machine performance and lifespan. Daily inspections should include checking engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant levels, and tire condition. Scheduled maintenance intervals vary by model and operating hours, but following the manufacturer's maintenance guidelines can help prevent unexpected downtime and costly repairs.
What is the difference between a wheel loader and a skid steer loader?
The primary difference is size, lifting capability, and maneuverability. Wheel loaders generally offer higher lifting capacities, larger buckets, and better performance for moving bulk materials over longer distances. Skid steer loaders are more compact and excel in confined spaces where tight turning and versatility are required. The best choice depends on your job site conditions and application needs.
What engine brands are available on OXPLO wheel loaders?
OXPLO wheel loaders are available with different engine configurations depending on the model and market requirements. Engine options may include reliable diesel engines designed to deliver strong performance, fuel efficiency, and easy maintenance. Please contact our sales team for specific engine options available in your region.
Do you provide operator training and technical support?
Yes. OXPLO provides after-sales support and technical assistance to help customers operate and maintain their equipment efficiently. Our team can offer guidance on machine operation, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and spare parts support to ensure long-term reliability and productivity.
